The National Association of Conservation Districts’ (NACD) Poster Contest for Kauai’s K – 6 th grade students is a national contest to encourage teachers and students to be good stewards of the land by conserving and protecting our natural resources through art. Posters are drawn by the grade school students to express their thoughts on natural resource conservation and protection. CONSERVATION AWARENESS CONTEST PROGRAM (CAP)

We sponsor this annual land judging contest among Kauaʻi high school students. With assistance from the UH Cooperative Extension Service (CTAHR), the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), and cooperation of the State Department of Education, the students learn the importance of natural resource conservation and protection in agricultural production. The winning team competes in the State contest and the State's top team represents Hawaii at the national competition.

NRCS FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

The Districts work closely with the NRCS to offer reimbursement and incentive programs for cooperators who have an approved Conservation Plan and qualify in the application process.
